Jaffa-Bat Yam Waterfront Nexus

Year: 2011

The waterfront knows no municipal borders.

Our proposal for the development of a beachfront site straddling the southern border of Tel Aviv-Jaffa and Bat Yam seamlessly connects the two municipalities to the waterfront and each other, while introducing new civic programs of swimming and wading pools.

Working with the topography and existing site conditions, a water-path and wading pools bridge between the sand beaches to the north and south. A seawater olympic pool, sunken into the limestone hill a viewing plaza that steps down to the beach and  a series of shallow water pools activates the contour of city and sea.
